How We Make Our Soaps

This is a glimpse into our production process from beginning to end.

First Step

Design

Before we even make our soaps, we need to start off with an idea. What are we trying to make and what is the inspiration for making it? We enjoy experimenting and creating. Sometimes we get a fragrance and think what does this remind me of? Wouldn't it be cool if … Other times, we get a design idea, and we then need to figure out how we can make that into soap. What do I need to make it and what fragrance will work with it?

Step two

Select Ingredients and Gather Supplies

Now that we have the design, it is time to decide what kind of product we are making, are we going to make a glycerin-based soap or cold process? Glycerin-based soap can be used for more intricate designs while cold process can tell a story with shapes and color. Once we pick, it's time to gather supplies, including silicone molds for designs. If we can't find them, we make them!

Third Step

Now it's time for Soap

This is where we make our soaps into physical products. Cold process and glycerin soaps have different methods but still produce awesome soaps.

Cold Process Soap

To Make Cold Process Soap

For cold process soaps, we add sodium hydroxide dissolved in water or other liquids such as beer or aloe water and combine it with our mixture of oils to create soap. Once mixed we can then add our fragrance and colors and pour them into molds. After sitting in the mold overnight, they are removed and then cut into bars and set to dry on a drying rack for 6 weeks.

Glycerin Soaps

To Make Glycerin-Based Soap

Glycerin based soaps on the other hand are already soap. We purchase the glycerin base and then melt the soap and add colors and fragrances. The best part is that it's ready to use right away.

Step Four

Packing & Labeling

Next step is packing and labeling. Once cold process soaps are cured, we print and cut out labels and place them on the soaps. For glycerin-based soaps we wrap them with shrink wrap and then add sticker labels to them.

Fifth Step

Enjoy

At this point, the product is made and ready for sale. Enjoy!
